Gentle Hatha

Anita Kaiser

Anita has been practicing yoga on and off since she was a child. There have been many teachers along the way, but joining Katie's Ashtanga level 2 class over eight years ago really sealed her commitment to continue on this path. Since then the practice has become integral to her health and wellness.

In 2006, Anita trained in Portland to become an Itsy Bitsy Yoga teacher and then trained further with Yoga4Kids in Toronto. She has been teaching babies, toddlers and children since then. In 2011, Anita decided it was time to pursue her adult teacher training. She studied in Windsor, ON with Renee Janisse and obtained her 200 hour RYT certificate. She has been teaching adults since then and is thrilled to be able to offer a safe space for gentle exploration of your body through Asana. Anita is excited to share her love of the healing that yoga can bring to you.

Anita’s favorite pose is currently Utthita Parsvakonasana (extended side angle pose). The flow of energy reminds her to live life to the fullest.

Steve Ferrell

Steve found his pathway to Yoga as a bodybuilder and personal trainer who was always feeling tight, sore and looking for “more” out of his physical workouts. Steve tried his first class with Hamilton’s Alex Bovkis and immediatley fell in love. Within 3 months Steve was enrolled in his first 200hr Teacher Training with Heather Greaves. Steve was certified through Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT), a style founded by renowned Yoga therapist, Joseph LePage. Steve found his way to De La Sol where he immediately fell in love with the fluidity, strength and meditative qualities of the Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. Steve is always learning, and combined with his interests in Human Anatomy, Ayruveda and Buddhist Meditation, he continues to deepen his practice. He offers a challenging, invigorating but very quirky and light hearted class, blending the physical with an emphasis on the mental and spiritual facets of the practice.

Barb Sotos

Barb encourages approaching postures or asanas with curiosity, an open mind and a light heart is always allowing students to be wherever their body tells them to be in that moment, free of judgment and full of awareness and appreciation for their limitations. After all, Yoga is about uniting the body with the breath and the mind, not about perfecting the asana!

Barb appreciates everybody’s uniqueness. Knowing that life is full of challenges, self awareness through her instruction in order to better understand and appreciate the power you have in dealing with situations and living your life. She creates a non intimidating environment and is often told she is clear and easy to follow. Infusing positive energy, genuine concern and respect for each individual and their personal journey.

A non-athletic style of practice suitable for those with injuries or mobility issues. A supportive and intelligent approach to gently opening the body, learning to breathe more efficiently and relieving the mind of stress and tension.
