Chris Nguyen

Curiosity is what brought Chris into his first yoga class. That curiosity marked the beginning of an ongoing journey and passion for the practice of yoga and a profound desire to deepen that relationship. 
 
Chris completed De La Sol's 200 hour YTT and is currently studying the Ashtanga Yoga method through his Level 2 authorized teacher, Anna Muzzin. With persistence and dedication, one's yoga practice can only strengthen and grow deeper. In 2015, Chris embarked on two separate trip to Mysore, India to study with R.Sharath Jois and Saraswathi Rangaswamy at KPJAYI (Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute), the source of Ashtanga yoga. In 2016, Chris completed his third trip. Chris is a certified Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist (FRCms) studying under Dr. Andreo Spina.

  

To Chris, yoga is not something to "excel" at but rather about cultivating contentment, compassion, mindfulness, self acceptance and bringing awareness into the body. Yoga has transformed his life on and off the mat. As a teacher, he aspires to help others find a santosha (contentment) and a deeper connection to themselves. 

  

One of Chris' favourite poses is urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow pose). The feeling of opening up to endless possibilities can be quite addicting.

Anwar Qureshi

Anwar found yoga in 2006 after realizing an active youth had given way to less healthy habits as he aged. Determined to regain his healthy lifestyle, he was drawn to yoga for it's fitness component, which works as one of the best cross trainers for many athletic endeavours. After practicing casually for two years Anwar found it was the mental and emotional benefits that kept him coming back to his mat.
 
With the new found depth to his practice, Anwar began practicing more seriously and completed his 200 Hour Teacher Training Certification at De La Sol in 2011 and is now teaching yoga full time. Anwar has taught with Yoga Rocks, a yoga program that brings yoga to high school boy's gym classes. 
 
It is the combination and balance between the physical and mental that led Anwar to reorient his life towards practicing and teaching yoga. His favourite pose embodies these qualities, Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand), which requires both focus and strength.

Martha Shea

Martha has been practicing and teaching yoga since 2000 and received her first 300 hour yoga certification with The American Yoga Academy that same year. In 2001 Martha received her yoga certification from The Yoga and Healing Center in New Jersey with Wendy Grosse, who specializesin Soul Sweat Yoga. In 2003, Martha was certified in Prenatal Yoga with Janice Clarfield at Kripalu Yoga, and in 2008, her Yoga Ed Certification in Ontario.
 
Martha has been inspired by David Life and Sharon Gannon and has attended several intensive training and summer camps with them. This year, Martha completed her Baron Baptiste Level 2, and is currently working on her certification with him.
 
Martha’s mat is a vehicle for creativity and freedom in her life. She counts her blessings on her mat. It is a place of pure space where she connects to her center, her strength and her authenticity. Yoga has brought Martha through some very challenging times in her life. She believes in many ways that it has saved her. It reminds her constantly that she is always stronger than she thinks she is, and it reminds her to be present in her moment, her life, one breath at a time.
 
Martha’s favourite poses are arm balances. Arm balances combine freedom and strength. You need to draw on your core, your truth before you can find the courage to fly. They remind you that anything is possible – all you have to do is break the branch, trust and fly into endless possibilities !!!
