This class is taught by:

Kelly Bortolin

Kelly began her love affair with yoga over 20 years ago. Being an athlete, her first draw to yoga was to attain mental and emotional strength and peace in the same way she had physically.

Yoga put Kelly on a path of self discovery and awakened awareness and inspired her passion for facilitating healing and growth in others. Kelly is also a Holistic Healer and Life Coach. Her intention is to combine all of her gifts and modalities to facilitate healing on all levels for her students.

Kelly has completed 200 hour YTTs in both Integrative yoga therapy and Vinyasa Flow. She has also completed Pre/Post Natal TT, YogaRocks Kids and Teens TT, and Yin/Yang TT.

Kelly’s favourite postures are Astavakrasana (eight-angle pose) as it demands strength, flexibility, concentration, balance and a connection with curiousity and playfulness and Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand) as Kelly loves to be upside down while connecting with a sense of commitment, strength, grace and fun!

Jessica Scott

Jessica graduated DLS teacher training a year ago and teaches a fun, challenging flow style class! She is eager to teach as much as she can at DLS.

Anwar Qureshi

Anwar found yoga in 2006 after realizing an active youth had given way to less healthy habits as he aged. Determined to regain his healthy lifestyle, he was drawn to yoga for it's fitness component, which works as one of the best cross trainers for many athletic endeavours. After practicing casually for two years Anwar found it was the mental and emotional benefits that kept him coming back to his mat.

With the new found depth to his practice, Anwar began practicing more seriously and completed his 200 Hour Teacher Training Certification at De La Sol in 2011 and is now teaching yoga full time. Anwar has taught with Yoga Rocks, a yoga program that brings yoga to high school boy's gym classes.

It is the combination and balance between the physical and mental that led Anwar to reorient his life towards practicing and teaching yoga. His favourite pose embodies these qualities, Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand), which requires both focus and strength.

Chris Nguyen

Curiosity is what brought Chris into his first yoga class. That curiosity marked the beginning of an ongoing journey and passion for the practice of yoga and a profound desire to deepen that relationship.

Chris completed De La Sol's 200 hour YTT and is currently studying the Ashtanga Yoga method through his Level 2 authorized teacher, Anna Muzzin. With persistence and dedication, one's yoga practice can only strengthen and grow deeper. In 2015, Chris embarked on two separate trip to Mysore, India to study with R.Sharath Jois and Saraswathi Rangaswamy at KPJAYI (Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute), the source of Ashtanga yoga. In 2016, Chris completed his third trip. Chris is a certified Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist (FRCms) studying under Dr. Andreo Spina.

To Chris, yoga is not something to "excel" at but rather about cultivating contentment, compassion, mindfulness, self acceptance and bringing awareness into the body. Yoga has transformed his life on and off the mat. As a teacher, he aspires to help others find a santosha (contentment) and a deeper connection to themselves.

One of Chris' favourite poses is urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow pose). The feeling of opening up to endless possibilities can be quite addicting.

Jacey Mazurek

Jacey graduated from De La Sol's Teacher Training in 2015 and started teaching yoga full time between different studios. She teaches everything from pranayama in a Sweat Relax Restore to challenging apex poses in a Vinyasa Level 1. Jacey reads her students before class so she can tailor the class to their needs. She teaches a mindful class with emphasis on cues and likes using open ended questions to encourage her students to delve deeper into their practice. Jacey likes to leave enough time near the end of her classes so her students have time to let go of their practice with a deep savasana. (She may even chant while playing singing bowls or give essential oil neck massages!)

Anthony Berlingeri

Anthony relates yoga to being in a relationship; it takes commitment, vulnerability, playfulness, faith, forgiveness, & compassion. Anthony’s love affair with yoga began about 8 years ago & like most relationships do, it started on the surface. My hamstrings were super tight and I wanted to loosen up while toning my body. Little did I know yoga would remain with me throughout some of the hardest times of my life. Yoga became a mirror for me to see myself in. Most of us start to practice for the simple reason of strengthening the mind and body, but ultimately we begin to re-discover our own truth. We get out of our heads and into our Selves, which is the very nature of love. As a teacher I believe the essence of yoga is also the art of living. Its about being present for our Self, and the world that we live in, so that we can express and celebrate the divinity that we all share. Yoga isn’t a religion, nor does it have anything to do with becoming a better person. Its simply about letting go of the past, as well as our fears of the future, so that the gift of the present can be received! Anthony is recognized in the community for his commitment to bring yoga and meditation into schools through his Yoga Affects Youth initiative. His intention is bring the gift of yoga and meditation to children so that they can begin the path of their own discovery from an early age. For more information check out yogaaffectsyouth.com.

Anthony's favourite yoga pose is Salamba Sirsasana (Headstand). It's not often he flips his world upside down, but when he does it gives him a completely different view and perspective. It also forces him to be present to avoid tumbling over.

Trish Dingman

Movement, theatre, poetry and music mold Trish’s world; working professionally as an actor in stage, film and television, since age 12. Drawing from her 9 years of teaching, over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training and her creative background as a classically trained actor, Trish is creating something new and exciting on the mat.
In 1999 Trish began practicing yoga while attending the theatre-acting conservatory, at Ryerson University. She fell in LOVE with yoga in 2006, when she used it to help heal herself from addiction and depression.
Since then, Trish has studied asana, philosophy (both tantric and classical), anatomy, therapeutics, meditation and pranayama with some of the world's most inspiring teachers, including Ana Forrest, Noah Maze, Seane Corn, Martin Kirk, John Friend, Christopher Hareesh Wallis and Baron Baptiste.
Trish's teaching style is unique, fluid and energetic! She weaves story telling, poetry, music, dance and theatre into her asana classes. She is never short on laughs and lends kind healing hands to her students.
Trish's mission is love through creativity and authenticity. Her mantra is: "Find out what makes you special and share it with the world!"
