This class is taught by:

Luisa Caruso

Luisa is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher, she graduated from Prana Yoga College in Vancouver in 2009. She started practicing as a result of a drawn out battle with depression and anxiety and began seeking alternative therapies to support growth as well as emotional and physical wellness. Since studying out west she continued her yoga practice with many Iyanger, Ashtanga, Restorative and Yin inspired teachers, she is currently studying Ayurveda.

Luisa has been practicing yoga since 2006 and has accumulated over 500 hours of both teaching and studying experience, she is also a certifed Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. Luisa has a passion for social justice and activism and is currently pursuing her apprenticeship in Child and Youth Work, she believes that her yoga practice has nurtured and supported these passions. Luisa teaches both Flow and Yin classes, with specific emphasis on breathing and awareness of the patterened habits of the mind and body. In her classes you will create both strength and flexibility in balance, combining controlled movement, deep stretch and a good laugh.

Luisa's favorite posture is Adho Mukha Svanasana (Wild Thing / Flip Dog). Letting go and dropping back into the unknown, opening the heart while cultivating strength in the arms.

Melissa Lam

It's so great to be back at De La Sol to see new and familiar faces!

I had the pleasure to teach at De La Sol about 2 years ago when the Waterdown Studio first opened.

I love to travel and for the past 2 years taught English and Yoga in South Korea.

I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program in 2013 with Global Yoga Shala while living in Peru.

I am trained in the Ashtanga Method - Primary Series, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. I am confident in subbing any of the classes offered at De La Sol.

My focus when teaching is to encourage students to develop a mindful, creative, and most importantly sustainable yoga practice.

Michelle Hudecki

Michelle’s practice began in 2006 after the demands of competitive gymnastics began to take their toll physically. In the search of something to maintain the physical and mental challenge she’d both craved and become accustomed to, Michelle took her first yoga class at a local church and became a regular student. Yoga had such a gentle, healing and magic quality it became a regular practice for Michelle.

After completing her first 200h RYT in 2013 training program under the tutelage of Katie McClelland, the endless study continued with noted instructors such as Doug Swenson, Kino MacGregor and Meghan Currie.

Michelle has used yoga to the benefit of many facets of her life and passionately passes along that experience to all of her students, regardless of skill level.
While serious about her practice she likes to keep the atmosphere in class light and welcoming for all.

Michelle's favourite pose is Ustrasana because it is an uplifting posture, which stimulates the nervous system and opens the heart. This pose leaves you with a glowing energy and vitality for the rest of the day!

Rosanne Shea

Rosanne Shea believes that there is a style of yoga for everyone and every size or shape of body can benefit from the healing and wellness that yoga brings. Rosanne encourages her students to explore this in themselves, and uncover, celebrate, and honor all of the gifts we have.

Her favorite pose is Wild Thing, because of the exhilarating and celebratory feelings it brings!

She has been practising yoga off and on for about 15 years. In the last 6 years she has been drawn to a regular and consistent yoga practise for the meditative and healing qualities.

Rosanne graduated from Del La Sol’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program. She has also completed a 40 hour teacher training in Restorative Yoga, 20 hours in Yoga for Kids, and has a level 2 in Reiki.

Donna Powell

Donna began her yoga journey with Susan McClelland and Nesta Falladown in 2002. She enrolled in The Yoga Centre of Burlington’s intensive 2 year Teacher Training program and it was there that she met Katie McClelland who became a personal friend, soul sister and guru who inspired Donna to experience the joys and rewards of teaching Ashtanga Yoga.

Donna has taken teacher training with Francois Raoult and David Swenson and continues to attend classes offered by a variety of accomplished practitioners such as Seane Corn, Baron Baptiste and Doug Swenson. Donna currently teaches a Gentle Hatha class in a calm, nurturing, supportive environment designed to give students a strong base from which to expand their practice and personal connection to their true nature and spirituality.

Donna's favourite yoga pose is Vasisthsana (Side Plank) because of the wonderful feeling of being lifted from below, the way the heart opens as you reach for the sky. The pose is a beautiful balance of being grounded and strong while soaring and reaching to the heavens with an open heart!
Enjoy this candle-lit class created to relieve stress and tension. The heat stimulates deep muscle release and detoxification of the body and the relaxed atmosphere helps to quiet the mind. This class is open to all levels, including absolute beginners and is a great introduction to the Infrared Hot room.
